KIU’s Gumisiriza Vying for FUMI Treasurer General Seat

KIU, Western Campus – KIU Medical intern Oscar Melvin Gumisiriza is vying for the post of Treasurer General for the Federation for Uganda Medical Interns (FUMI).

Gumisiriza, who is running under the motto “Togetherness and Unity for a Common Cause”, says he has a 70% chance of winning.

“Because of the trust and experience I have got in finances and lobbying during Medical School plus the desire to contribute in changing welfare of medical interns in the nation, I believe they will put their trust in me,” Gumisiriza told this website.

He says that once elected, he will be tasked with managing finances for all medical interns across the country and building the FUMI treasury of which he has experience in.

Gumisiriza is the former Public Relations Officer for the Association of Medical Students of KIU (AMSKIU). He was also very instrumental in organizing several AMSKIU activities like the Medical Week and the White Coat Ceremony among others.

He is running against Comfort Acurire from King Ceasor University.
